Accident / Accident Care / Roadside Assistance
If you have been involved in a car accident, you should:
- Call the Police (100 ) to record the incident and in case there are injured 166 and they need immediate help to transport to a hospital.
- Do not acknowledge any third party claims
- Avoid making a statement about who is responsible
- Call the Traffic Police to exchange the details of those involved
- Call Accident Care.
- Inform RentalCarsAthens at +30 6979542909
- Keep a copy of the accident report and deliver it or email it to RentalCarsAthens@gmail.com within 24 hours to RentalCarsAthens.
- Call Road Assistance in the event that the vehicle is not safe to continue on its way, so that it can be taken to the nearest workshop indicated by RentalCarsAthens.
- Continue your journey if the vehicle is safe or request a replacement if the service is included in your contract.
Mechanical errors
- All cars are covered with 24-hour roadside assistance throughout Greece
- In case of any breakdown you can contact us so that we can guide you on how to handle the incident
- In case the vehicle has undergone mechanical work, call roadside assistance to have it checked on site
- If the damage can be restored / repaired on site and you can continue your journey safely, the vehicle replacement process is not activated
- In the event that the damage cannot be repaired, we make sure to provide you with a replacement vehicle by concluding a replacement contract
- The vehicle replacement time does not exceed 24-48 hours
Theft
- If the car is stolen, you should immediately report the incident to the nearest police station.
- Notify RentalCarsAthens.
- Go to RentalCarsAthens in person within 24 hours to make a written theft report and hand over the rental vehicle key.
Attention: The insurance cover against theft is not valid if the vehicle key is not delivered or negligence is found to be the responsibility of the lessee.
Keys
- In case you lose the key, you should inform our central office immediately so that a spare key can be sent to you.
- Do not attempt to start the vehicle in any other way.
- The cost of sending a spare key and making a new one is borne entirely by the hirer.
Tenant's responsibility
- The lessee is solely responsible for covering damages caused to the rental vehicle due to intent, negligence or wrong use, including, but not limited to, the use of the vehicle outside of its specifications, its overweight or incorrect loading, its use on unpaved roads, driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or substances, transporting dangerous goods or illegal goods.
Roadside assistance
- 24-hour roadside assistance is provided to the rented car in case of an accident.
- Excluded if the car was immobilized due to lack of fuel, misuse of the vehicle, damage to the tires and accident-damage on an off-paved road.
- In the above cases, the cost of roadside assistance is borne exclusively by the lessee.
